Understanding the person we are with is something just as important as communication. When we first start dating we strive to get to know the person we are with. What the like, what the hate, and all that jazz. But when we are together for so long you start to lose interest in that person like you had in the beginning. You stop trying to learn about the person you are with. Proverbs 18:15 says "The ear of the wise seeks knowledge."
In my case it's not that I want to know him any less then what I did. It's that I have got so used to being called ignorant when I speak that I don't see any point talking. It is a difficult cycle to break. I know I need to pray about it because through God all things are possible. Proverbs 2:6 says "The Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding."

So what happens when there is old knowledge and never any new added? If you are in college and you drop out only to return a couple of years later you can't use the same text books as before because they will be outdated the same as your relationship will be.
